Overview
My intent is not to get into every detail about Daniel's 70th week. This blog would be never-ending.
The intent of this blog is to just show an overview of what is about to occur in our near future. Hopefully, it will help bring an understanding to upcoming timelines.
There are multiple references to this period and also multiple expressions of the same lengths of time.
NOTE: Throughout Scripture, these "lengths" are referred to as:
[1] 42 months [Rev 11:12]
[2] 1,260 days [Rev 11:13]
[3] time, times, and half a time [Dan 7:25; Rev 12:14] which is 3.5 years.
___________________________
Daniel's 70th week is a 7 year period and is broken into two sections.
[1] The first 3.5 years is what I've referred to in other blogs as "The Beginning of Birth Pangs" - which is what Jesus calls it:
Mat 24:8 All these are the beginning of sorrows [G5604 - odin, a birth pang].
Mar 13:8 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be earthquakes in diverse [various] places, and there shall be famines and troubles: these are the beginnings of sorrows [G5604 - odin].
The opening of the Seven Seals signals the beginning of Daniel's 70th Week.
[2] The second half begins with the setting up of the "abomination of desolation" in the Jewish Temple and continues for 3.5 years. This period is known as the Great Tribulation period.
Mar 13:14 But when ye shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel [Dan 8:13, Dan 9:27, Dan 12:11] the prophet...
At the end of the Great Tribulation period, there will be an additional 30 and 45 days (75 days total) making the 1260 day period 1335 days total before His Millennial Reign begins.
Which is why Daniel says:
Dan 12:11-12 And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days [1,290 days]. Blessed is he that waits, and comes to the thousand three hundred and five and thirty days [1,335 days].
From the time the abomination of desolation is setup to the end of the Great Tribulation will be 1,260 days. Day 1 begins when the abomination is setup and Antichrist is revealed.
All temple rituals, including the daily sacrifice, will have been put to an end at the beginning of the Great Tribulation period.
Those rituals will not commence again until after the completion of the Great Tribulation period (1,260 days) plus an additional 30 days.
After this 30 day period, the temple rituals will resume. This brings us to the end of the 1,290 day period.
40 days after this will be the dedication of Jesus Millennial Kingdom and it's commencement.
1,260 + 30 + 45 = 1,335 days.
Tasks of the 75 days
I've discussed the resurrections in my blogs entitled "Resurrection" and have pointed out that Jesus' Church has been caught up well before this 75 day period.
Several things are set to occur at the end of the Great Tribulation (1,260 days) and during this 75 day period which follows.
During the Great Tribulation all the nations have taken over Jerusalem:
Zec 14:2 For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city.
When Jesus returns, He will deal with these nations and they shall be cast out of Jerusalem. Judah will have their part in this as well - Jesus will reunite Judah with Jerusalem.
Please be sure to read all of the passages below and their associated chapters...
For now, without going into too much detail:
Jesus and the saints come:
Rev 19:11 And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and He that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in Righteousness He doth judge and make war.
Zec 14:5 ... and the LORD my God shall come, and all the saints with thee.
Rev 19:14 And the armies which were in heaven followed Him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.
Zec 12:9 And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem.
Birds of the air are called in preparation for the carnage:
Rev 19:17-18 And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God; that you may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and bond, both small and great.
Eze 39:4 You [Gog] shall fall upon the mountains of Israel, you, and all thy bands, and the people that is with thee: I will give thee unto the ravenous birds of every sort, and to the beasts of the field to be devoured.
Antichrist and his court are gathered for war:
Rev 19:19 And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against Him that sat on the horse, and against his army.
After defeat, Antichrist and the false prophet are cast into the Lake of Fire:
Rev 19:20 And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshiped his image. These both were cast alive into a Lake of Fire burning with brimstone.
Dan 7:26 But the court will sit for judgment, and his dominion will be taken away, annihilated and destroyed forever.
His followers are decimated:
Rev 19:21 And the remnant were slain with the sword of Him that sat upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of His mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh.
Isa 24:21-22 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the LORD shall punish the host of the high ones that are on high, and the kings of the earth upon the earth. And they shall be gathered together, as prisoners are gathered in the pit, and shall be shut up in the prison, and after many days shall they be visited.
Satan will be imprisoned for 1,000 years:
Rev 20:1-3 And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit [G12 - abyss] and a great chain in his hand. And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years, and cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more...
After the 1,000 years, Satan will be set free for a brief period:
... until the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season.
Jesus will rule and reign:
Zec 14:9 And the LORD shall be King over all the earth: in that day shall there be one LORD, and His Name One.
Zec 14:4 And His [Jesus] feet shall stand in that day upon the Mount of Olives...
Eze 39:8 Behold, it is come, and IT IS DONE, saith the Lord GOD; this is the day whereof I have spoken.
Rev 11:15 And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the Kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and He shall be reigning for the eons of the eons.
The above all describes (in minimal detail) the events leading to the conclusion of the Great Tribulation period (1,260 days).
God will gather all Israelites that are scattered abroad, back to Jerusalem:
Isa 11:11-12 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the Lord shall set his hand again the second time to recover the remnant of his people, which shall be left, from Assyria, and from Egypt, and from Pathros, and from Cush, and from Elam, and from Shinar, and from Hamath, and from the islands of the sea. And He shall set up an ensign for the nations, and shall assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth.
Mat 24:31 And He shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.
They will begin the cleanup process:
Eze 39:9 And they that dwell in the cities of Israel shall go forth, and shall set on fire and burn the weapons, both the shields and the bucklers, the bows and the arrows, and the handstaves, and the spears, and they shall burn them with fire seven years:
Eze 39:12 And seven months shall the house of Israel be burying of them, that they may cleanse the land.
Eze 39:14-15 And they shall sever out men of continual employment, passing through the land to bury with the passengers those that remain upon the face of the earth, to cleanse it: AFTER the end of seven months shall they search. And the passengers that pass through the land, when any sees a man's bone, then shall he set up a sign by it, till the buriers have buried it in the valley of Hamongog.
See Ezekial 48 - Israel shall be rebuilt, cleansed, and divided up among the tribes... it shall be renamed:
Eze 48:35 ... the name of the city from that day shall be, The LORD is there.
See Ezekial 40-46 - The Millennial Temple will be constructed:
Zec 6:12-13 And speak unto him, saying, Thus speaks the LORD of hosts, saying, Behold the Man whose name is The BRANCH; and He shall branch out of His place, and He shall build the Temple of the LORD: even He shall build the Temple of the LORD; and He shall bear the glory, and shall sit and rule upon His Throne; and He shall be a Priest upon His throne: and the counsel of peace shall be between them both.
All remaining nations and their kings, countries, dominions will be taken over by the saints:
Rev 5:10 And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.
Dan 7:27 And the Kingdom and Dominion, and the greatness of the Kingdom under the whole Heaven, shall be given to the people of the saints of the most High, whose Kingdom is an everlasting [H5957 - olam] Kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey Him.
1 Cor 6:2 Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? And if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters?
His Mission will be known and spread... His government will be established, His new laws shall be known, salvation shall be published:
The verse below is actually outside of the time period we're discussing, but I wanted to show that there will be people left after the Great Tribulation period:
Zec 14:16 And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall even go up from year to year to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, and to keep the feast of tabernacles.
Some will remain stubborn:
Zec 14:17 And it shall be, that whoso will not come up of all the families of the earth unto Jerusalem to worship the King, the LORD of hosts...
No rain, and plagues:
Zec 14:19 This shall be the punishment of Egypt, and the punishment of all nations that come not up to keep the feast of tabernacles.
Jesus message shall spread into all the earth:
Isa 52:6-7 Therefore My people shall know My name: therefore they shall know in that day that I am He that does speak: behold, it is I. How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of Him that brings good tidings, that publishes peace; that brings good tidings of good, that publishes salvation; that says unto Zion, Thy God reigns!
Isa 2:3 And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the House of the God of Jacob; and He will teach us of His ways, and we will walk in His paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.
Isa 11:9 They shall not hurt nor destroy in all My Holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.
Zec 8:20-23 Thus saith the LORD of hosts; It shall yet come to pass, that there shall come people, and the inhabitants of many cities: and the inhabitants of one city shall go to another, saying, Let us go speedily to pray before the LORD, and to seek the LORD of hosts: I will go also.
Yea, many people and strong nations shall come to seek the LORD of hosts in Jerusalem, and to pray before the LORD.
Thus saith the LORD of hosts; In those days it shall come to pass, that ten men shall take hold out of all languages of the nations, even shall take hold of the skirt of him that is a Jew, saying, We will go with you: for we have heard that God is with you.
See Ezekial 47 - All forms of life on earth, plants, animals, mankind shall be restored from the Water flowing from the Temple:
Eze 47:1 Afterward he brought me again unto the door of the house; and, behold, waters issued out...
At 1,335 days The Millennial Kingdom will be inaugurated!
The "whole house of Israel" shall be resurrected to life... see Ezekial 37.

The overview above is obviously not the complete picture as there are many details that I left out.
There are also many milestones which occur after the Millennial Kingdom is setup and opened for business (so to speak).
I'll get to those events in upcoming blogs entitled "Millennial Kingdom".
