My Words are Spirit

In each blog, I often reference many different topics that I've already covered, and maybe you've missed.  Please review my blogs to read more...

1 Cor 2:10  But God hath revealed them unto us by His Spirit: for the Spirit searches ALL things, yea, the deep things of God.

1 Cor 2:14  But the natural man [carnal man] receives not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are Spiritually discerned.

This is a foundational Truth that must be realized in this life, or you'll never move from the milk to the meat.  You'll never progress from carnal to Spiritual.

Jesus said:

Joh 6:63  It is the Spirit that quickens [G2227 - gives life]; the flesh [carnal mind] profits nothing: the Words that I speak unto you, they are Spirit, and they are life.

Jesus just finished telling His disciples to "eat His flesh" and "drink His blood", they were like "huh?!"

Joh 6:60  Many therefore of His disciples, when they had heard this, said, This is a hard saying; who can hear it?

They didn't get it... and what happened?

Joh 6:66  From that time many of His disciples went back, and walked no more with Him.

Why did His Words freak them out so bad?

Because they were carnal minded and unconverted.

"Eat His flesh and drink His blood... what are we, zombies?"

They were not thinking Spiritually.

What is our goal in this life?

To replace the carnal with the Spiritual in order to become more like the Image of our Heavenly Father - as children, growing, and learning to become like Him.

They could not possibly understand Jesus because they were yet carnally minded.  At this point in time, Jesus was also still physically with the Disciples.  After His ascension, Jesus - Himself, comes back to them as their parakletos (much more on the parakletos in other blogs).

There's no way they could possibly understand Spiritual matters.

Which is why Jesus says:

Joh 6:63  It is the Spirit that quickens [G2227 - zoopoieogives life]; the flesh profits nothing: the Words that I speak unto you, they are Spirit, and they are life.

Jesus asked:

Luk 18:8  ...when the Son of Man comes [His Second Coming], shall he find faith on the earth?

Some will argue, "of course He will... He's coming to rapture millions, possibly billions of us!"

Then ask yourself this:

Why would Jesus Himself present this profound, rhetorical question if He already knows the answer?  He's not asking a question - He's making a statement...

So... will He find faith?!

Mat 22:14  For many are called, but few are chosen.

2 Th 2:3  Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away [G646 - apostasia, apostasy] first...

Mat 7:14  Because strait [G4728 - narrow] is the gate, and narrow [G2346 - cramped] is the way, which leads unto life, and few there be that find it.

Not to get off track, but possibly reason for you to ponder His rhetorical question in Luk 18:8.  Will He find faith?

Our answers to all of these questions are found in Scripture.  Jesus says "the Words that I speak unto you, they are Spirit"!  That includes ALL of Scripture.

Are Spiritual things real?  More real, than the carnal things we deal with on a daily basis.

We must learn to separate the two... carnal things - Spiritual things.

1 Cor 1:26-27  For you see your calling, brothers [Christians], how that not many wise men after the flesh [carnal], not many mighty, not many noble, are called.

But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God has chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty [those carnal people, "after the flesh", just mentioned].

1 Cor 1:28  And base things [G36 - without kin, or ignoble (not honorable in character or purpose)] of the world, and things [he’s talking about people] which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not [those that are considered "nobodies"], to bring to naught [bring to an end] things that are [those that are considered "somebodies"].

The reason for all this?  Next verse…

1 Cor 1:29  That no flesh [the physical, carnal human nature] should glory in His presence.

Why?

Rom 8:7  Because the carnal mind is enmity [hostility, opposition] against God: for it is not subject [subordinate, obedient] to the law of God, neither indeed can be.

Again -

1 Cor 2:14-15  But the natural man [the carnal man] receives not the things of the Spirit of God [Spiritual things]: for they [Spiritual things] are foolishness [consider the mockers and scoffers, 2 Pet 3:3-4] to Him: neither can he know them [the carnal man CANNOT know Spiritual things], because they are Spiritually discerned.  But he that is Spiritual judges all things, yet he himself is judged of no man.

As these blogs continue, keep this post in mind.  In order to understand, you must consider the Spiritual things... those Words that He is speaking to us... both through the written Word, and those you hear "whispered into your ear".

Why?

1 Cor 2:13  Which things also we speak [Paul, Peter, Disciples, etc.], not in the words which man's wisdom teaches [not by comparing carnal (physical) to carnal (physical)], but which the Holy Ghost teaches; comparing Spiritual things with Spiritual

Some of these excerpts are from my personal notes copied from 30+ years of studying... some of these notes are direct copies of various sources - I do not claim to have authored every word of this... it's just a mass collection I've tucked away over the years for my own personal studies... I didn't consider a bibliography at the time I directly copied small excerpts from various authors.  Also, any emphasis (underlines, bold text, all CAPS, etc.) noted above was only meant to capture my personal attention as I studied...
