Jesus tells us that the Book of Daniel is important... we better pay attention!

Daniel is an important prophet for many reasons.  Among them are the visions he was given concerning end-time events.  We cannot be prepared for what is about to happen unless we understand the visions of Daniel.

Daniel's book is divided into two sections.  The first six chapters deal with the life of Daniel and the exiles in Babylon under king Nebuchadnezzar.

The last six chapters contain four visions.  The narrative sections are all "pictures" of events yet to occur during Daniel's 70th week.

Just as we've seen in my other blogs, there is a pattern of "seven" within Daniel also that lines up with the seven seals, the seven letters, etc.  We can find this pattern in Daniel's final vision of chapters 10-12.

In total Daniel interpreted two dream of Nebuchadnezzar and the writing on the wall in king Belshazzar's banquet hall.  He also experienced four visions himself, which occurred over a period of 18 years, and we can read about those visions in chapters 7-9 and the final vision in 10-12.

[1]  Chapter 7 - The four Beasts

[2]  Chapter 8 - The Ram and Goat

[3]  Chapter 9 - Seventy Sevens

[4]  Chapters 10-12 - Great Vision

For now, I only intend on focusing on the events of Daniel's 70th week but may come back to the remainder at a later time.
