The Assyrian:
Isa 10:5-6 O Assyrian, the rod of mine anger, and the staff in their hand is mine indignation. I will send him against an hypocritical nation, and against the people of my wrath will I give him a charge, to take the spoil, and to take the prey, and to tread them down like the mire of the streets.

The little horn:

The little horn:
Dan 7:11 I beheld then because of the voice of the great words which the horn spake: I beheld even till the beast was slain, and his body destroyed, and given to the burning flame.

Willful king:
Dan 11:36 And the king shall do according to his will; and he shall exalt himself, and magnify himself above every god, and shall speak marvellous things against the God of gods, and shall prosper till the indignation be accomplished: for that that is determined shall be done.
New Testament References
The man of lawlessness:
2 Th 2:3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
The son of destruction:
2 Th 2:3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
2 Th 2:8 And then shall that wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:
The wild beast:
Rev 13:1-2 And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy. And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority.
Notice in the passage above, the wild beast gets his power directly from Satan.
Remember when Satan offered that power to Jesus? It was Satan's to give.
Jesus, the Christ rejected his offer - the Antichrist will accept it gladly.
Jesus also referred to him:
Joh 5:43 I am come in my Father's name, and ye receive me not: if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive.
He will be the "Superman," posing as the great humanitarian, the friend of men, and the special friend of the Jewish people, many of whom he will persuade that he has come to usher in the golden age as pictured by their prophets, who will hail him as their Messiah. He will intoxicate men with the strong delusion of his never varying success. When he receives the death blow of the sword and is resurrected, he will have lost none of these powers, but will be, in addition, the embodiment of all kinds of wickedness and blasphemy. The Scriptures tell us that:
Dan 7:25 He shall declare a declaration to set aside the Supreme, and shall wear out the saints of the supremacies, and he shall mean to alter stated times and edict[s]. And they are granted into his hand for a season and [two] seasons and the distribution of a season.
Dan 8:22-25 And, being broken, and four stand up under it, four kingdoms shall stand up from the nation, yet not with his vigor. And in the latter [time] of their kingdom, as the trespass comes to an end, a king of strong presence and understanding problems shall stand up. And his vigor is staunch, yet not by his vigor, and marvelously he shall ruin and prosper and do, and he shall ruin the strong and holy people. And by intelligence he will cause deceit to prosper in his hand. He shall magnify [himself] in his heart, and by peace shall ruin many. And against the Chief of chiefs shall he stand, and at the limit of his hand he shall be broken.
Dan 11:36 And the king does as is acceptable to himself, and shall exalt himself, and magnify himself over every deity. And against the Deity of deities is he speaking marvelously. And he shall prosper till the menace is concluded, for that which is decided shall be done.
2 Th 2:3-12 No one should be deluding you by any method, for, should not the apostasy be coming first and the man of lawlessness be unveiled, the son of destruction, who is opposing and lifting himself up over everyone termed a god or an object of veneration, so that he is seated in the temple of God, demonstrating that he himself is God?
Do you not remember that, still being with you, I told you these things?
And now you are aware what is detaining, for him to be unveiled in his own era. For the secret of lawlessness is already operating. Only when the present detainer may be coming to be out of the midst, then will be unveiled the lawless one (whom the Lord Jesus will despatch with the spirit of His mouth and will discard by the advent of His presence), whose presence is in accord with the operation of Satan, with all power and signs and false miracles and with every seduction of injustice among those who are perishing, because they do not receive the love of the truth for their salvation.
And therefore God will be sending them an operation of deception, for them to believe the falsehood, that all may be judged who do not believe the truth, but delight in injustice.
After the catching away of the Church, which is the Body of Christ to the meeting in the air, that which is "restraining" will be "out of the midst" and the "lawless one will be unveiled".
It is in line with this that we have a prior expectancy in the Christ. We look for the coming of the Lord for us before He comes again to Israel, who also have an expectancy. But Israel will pass through the coming indignation, whereas the ecclesia is rescued out of it (1 Thess.1:10 and 5:9). As long as part of the ecclesia is still on earth, God's spirit is withholding His indignation against mankind's offenses, for while ever conciliation is being proclaimed, God must be seen to be willing to be conciliated to all (2 Cor.5:19). But when the ecclesia is withdrawn, then that which is detaining will no longer operate; the man of lawlessness will be unveiled, and God's indignation will be released in full vent against all injustice and unrighteousness (2 Thess.2:6-12).
However, in Ephesians, the word "indignation" occurs only in respect to the sons of stubbornness (2:3 and 5:6), among whom we once were, but from whom we have been saved. This is an epistle of grace and of glory, of the riches of God's mercy and the vastness of His love, especially toward us who have a prior expectancy, but eventually toward all as His purpose moves unswervingly forward to its grand and all-embracing climax. It is an epistle of Divine achievement!
