Daniel and the lion's den.
The Medes and Persian take over Babylon under Cyrus the great and Darius is appointed ruler over Babylon.
Cyrus considers Daniel to rule over Babylon (Dan 6:3).
It's very cool how the king says to Daniel "Your God, whom you serve continually, He will deliver you." (Dan 6:16).
The king was trying to find a loophole against the law... the men wouldn't let him put it aside. Nonetheless, Daniel is sealed in the lion's den. The king goes back to his room and fasts for the night without sleeping. I think it goes without saying, this king respected Daniel, and His God.
Dan 6:25-27 Then Darius the king wrote to all the peoples, nations and men of every language who were living in all the land: "May your peace abound! "I make a decree that in all the dominion of my kingdom men are to fear and tremble before the God of Daniel; for He is the living God and enduring forever, and His kingdom is one which will not be destroyed, and His dominion will be forever. "He delivers and rescues and performs signs and wonders in heaven and on earth, Who has also delivered Daniel from the power of the lions."
