Every once in a while I get hate-mail... especially lately now that my blogs are going up.
I'm told that "hell is most definitely real!", I'm "deceived", I'm the one who is "guilty of spreading lies", "the hottest part of hell will be reserved for me", etc.
I also have received tracts in the mail included with my eBay purchases, etc., a few times.
Below is an email that I have cut & paste as a reply to these people over the years.
Not ONCE have I ever received a Scriptural response. I kid you not - some of the absolute vitriol from "Christians"... some people seem to actually take delight in this doctrine of hell.
Let me save those people some time...
From now on my reply will only be a link to this page... an example of an earlier email response I've sent out (at least a dozen times).

Hi *******,
I received the guitar cables - thanks. I also received your "million dollar question" tract.
In your tract it states “… God sees you as a lying, thieving, blasphemous, adulterer at heart.” and “… if you are guilty you will end up in hell. That’s not God’s will.”
I’d like to offer you a couple of comments on your tract.
First, the definition of blasphemy is as follows:
An indignity offered to God by words or writing; reproachful, contemptuous or irreverent words uttered impiously against Jehovah.
Blasphemy is an injury offered to God, by denying that which is due and belonging to Him, or attributing to Him that which is not agreeable to His Nature.
In my eyes your tract is guilty of the above and if it is speaking for you, perhaps you may need to dig into Scripture a little harder.
You see, there is no mention of “hell [the place, or state of eternal punishment for the wicked after death]” in ALL of Scripture.
“Hell” is an Egyptian fable that has been brought into Christianity by false teachers and is the biggest hoax in the history of mankind.
“Hell” is an Egyptian fable that has been brought into Christianity by false teachers and is the biggest hoax in the history of mankind.
"After the doings [deeds, practices] of the land of Egypt, wherein ye dwelled, shall ye NOT DO..." (Leviticus 18:3).
“Hell” is the result of poor translation from the Hebrew and Greek into English and is found 23 times in the King James Version. Twelve times it is translated from the Greek word Gehenna [Hebrew = GeHinnom], ten times “hell” is translated from hades [which means “unseen” and connotes the state of the dead] and once from the Greek word tartarus [which means abyss].
Neither of these equate to a place called “hell” which Christendom teaches as a place of eternal torture/punishment.
Neither of these equate to a place called “hell” which Christendom teaches as a place of eternal torture/punishment.
It is blasphemy (see definition above) to accuse God Almighty of condemning billions of His created sons and daughters to an eternal torture pit of fire to suffer for trillions of trillions of centuries and beyond.
That does not sound like God to me. It sounds like a very poor understanding of the Holy Scriptures, and a lie from the father of lies, for “God is love” (1 John 4:8) and “love never fails” (1 Corinthians 13:8).
Your tract also mentions that it is "not God’s will to do so…" in that, your tract is correct:
"The Lord is… NOT WILLING that ANY should perish [how is He going to keep them from perishing? see the next statement ---->], but that ALL should come to repentance." (2 Peter 3:9)
Your God surely isn’t so weak and incompetent that He is unable to accomplish that which He desires is He? Surely He didn’t make some sort of cosmic mistake in His creation did He?
Of course not:
Of course not:
"Declaring the end from the beginning [speaking of God], and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel SHALL STAND, and I WILL DO all My pleasure:" (Isaiah 46:10)
Is His pleasure to watch His creation snap, crackle, and pop like bacon on a cast iron skillet for all of eternity in this place you call hell?
No – God had a plan in place "declaring from the beginning".
No – God had a plan in place "declaring from the beginning".
He sent His Son to be what? Saviour of only a few? No…
"And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Savior of the world." (1 John 4:14)
If Jesus does NOT save the world then He would not be able to claim the title of “SAVIOUR OF THE WORLD” and Scripture would be lying.
Believe me, preaching hell is blasphemy and another Gospel apart from the Holy Scriptures.
God’s Word is Truth to be sure:
“Sanctify them through Thy Truth: Thy Word is Truth.” (John 17:17)
… I’m referring to His Holy Scriptures, not man’s poor English translations of such. God cannot lie (Titus 1:2) but man can surely screw up His intent.
“But false prophets were also among the people, as ALSO false teachers WILL BE among you, who will SECRETLY bring in destructive heresies [heretical doctrines], and DENYING the Master who has bought them, bringing swift destruction on themselves. And MANY will follow their destructive ways [a few? No – many], by whom the way of Truth will be evil spoken of.” (2 Peter 2:1-2)
“For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves Teachers [sounds like many Bible Colleges I know of who preach hell and spit out thousands of preachers who preach the same destructive heresy!] having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the Truth, and shall be turned unto fables.” (2 Timothy 4:3-4)
I also used to preach the doctrine of hell – until I tried to prove another man wrong one day (years ago).
"…that OLD SERPENT, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceives the whole world…" (Revelation 12:9).
Not just a few, but the whole world. Just consider the above and dig into your Scriptures:
“The glory of God is to conceal a thing, but the glory of kings is to search out a matter” (Proverbs 25:2).
"For when Thy [God’s] JUDGMENTS are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world WILL learn righteousness" (Isaiah 26:9).
And… as a result:
“That at the name of Jesus EVERY knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that EVERY tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” (Philippians 2:10-11)
“That at the name of Jesus EVERY knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that EVERY tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” (Philippians 2:10-11)
"God our Savior; Who WILL have ALL men to be saved, AND to come unto the knowledge of the Truth." (1 Timothy 2:4)
"For therefore we both labor and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living GOD, who IS the Savior of ALL men, especially of those that believe." (1 Timothy 4:10)
God's Word does NOT contradict. It makes sense in the Words God deliberately chose in the Hebrew and Greek. Christ warns against "adding to" or "taking away from" His Word (Revelation 22:18-19).
When teaching God's Word we are to rightly divide (or cut) His Word (2 Timothy 2:15-18).
We are to " ... distinguish the things that differ" (Philippians 1:10).
We are to have a pattern of "sound words" (2 Timothy 1:13-14).
In addition to these we are to shun the "traditions of men" (Colossians 2:8) and the "wisdom of this world" (1 Corinthians 1:20 & 1 Corinthians 3:19).
We are teach with sound doctrine and "expose those who contradict" (Titus 1:9).
Your tract contradicts the Scriptures when it mentions the man-made doctrine of “hell” and blasphemes our Holy Father and above all else - DIMINISHES Jesus Christ’s life, death, and more importantly resurrection. You're preaching another Gospel!
Your tract is not very "GOOD NEWS" to me!
Why would you even call that nonsense "good news" to start with?! Billions of Billions of His children condemned to trillions upon trillions of centuries, and beyond, in conscious torment?
How is THAT "good news"?!
Act 17:11 These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.
