Hades - continued...

In Part 8... I mentioned that the Hebrew word: sheol is equivalent to the Greek word: hades.

How do we know this?

God has directed it to be True and has given us inspired proof...

New Testament [Greek]

Act 2:27  Because Thou wilt not leave My soul in hell [G86 - hades], neither wilt Thou suffer Thine Holy One to see corruption.

This is a direct quote from:

Old Testament [Hebrew]

Psa 16:10  For Thou wilt not leave My soul in hell [H7585 - sheol]; neither wilt Thou suffer Thine Holy One to see corruption.

The New Testament writers were inspired to translate the Hebrew word sheol into the Greek word hades.

sheol is hades, and hades is sheol which is also how Dr. Strong defines them both.

sheol

From H7592; hades or the world of the dead (as if a subterranian retreat), including its accessories and inmates: - grave, hell, pit.

hades

From G1 (as a negative particle) and G1492; properly unseen, that is, “Hades” or the place (state) of departed souls: - grave, hell.

sheol and hades are both... the state of the dead.  NOT Christendom's eternal torture pit referred to as "hell" and not even the "grave"... "grave" has it's own distinct Hebrew and Greek words.  It is the state of the dead.

I posted this verse in Part 8, but let's look at it a little closer now:

Psa 146:2-4  While I live will I praise the LORD: I will sing praises unto my God while I have ANY being Put not your trust in princes, nor in the son of man [not meaning Jesus, but humans - mankind], in whom there is no help.  His breath goes forth, he returns to his earth; IN THAT VERY DAY his thoughts perish.

How did David understand that a person would be "returned to his earth" when "his thoughts perish" and he no longer lives to "praise the Lord"?

Answer:

Psa 6:5  For IN DEATH there is NO remembrance of Thee: in the grave [H7585 - sheol] who shall give Thee thanks?

This is exactly the opposite of what "immortality of the soul" teaches.  It is a direct contradiction.  We're taught that upon death, there IS remembrance of God, and that those who have died AREN'T really dead, but are praising God in Heaven, or burning in hell.

Apparently, king David, one of God's beloved, was overlooked...

Act 2:34  For David is NOT ascended into the heavens...

David said he would "praise the Lord" while he was alive, because when "... his breath goes forth, he returns to this earth; in that very day his THOUGHTS PERISH."

And that "in the grave [sheolthere is NO remembrance of Thee... who shall give Thee [The Lord] thanks?" from sheol?

Not only, that but notice how the KJV translators chose to render this passage:

Psa 49:15  But God will redeem my soul [king David] from the power of the grave [sheol]: for he shall receive me.

You should be starting to notice the liberties that the translators took in order to validate their theological boxes.

Sometimes sheol is translated as "grave" - other times it's translated as "hell".

Do you know why it's not translated "hell" in this passage?

Because then they would have to explain why king David, one after God's own heart, is in hell and they would also have to explain how one can be redeemed from hell.

David is not in "hell"... nor, is he in Heaven (Acts 2:34).  David is in sheol/hades with all the others that have died throughout history!

Are you starting to believe in what I've been telling you yet?

Not yet?  Ok... one more example and then I'll move on:

Hos 13:14  I will ransom them from the power of the grave [sheol]; I will redeem them from death: O death, I will be thy plagues; O grave [sheol], I will be thy destruction: repentance shall be hid from Mine eyes.

Once again... didn't fit into the KJV's theological box.  How can you not recognize the intentional deceit by now?

There's no way they could have translated sheol as "hell" in these verses... it would DESTROY their precious "hell doctrine"!!!

Anyway... moving on:

In Christendom's "hell"... or, rather in Truth (sheol & hades), Scripture tells us that there is no remembrance, no thanks, our thoughts perish, the dead know "not ANY THING".

So why don't we hear this being preached?!

Because they don't believe these Scriptures, and even if they did - they won't teach them, because these Scriptures contradict and make a mockery of their UN-scriptural and pagan doctrines of immortal souls being tortured by demons for ever in the pits of some heathen hell.

They are the very "ministers of righteousness" Paul warned us about!  Don't let them deceive you any longer!

2 Cor 11:13-15  For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.  And NO MARVEL; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.  Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers [Satan's ministers] also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.

2 Pet 2:1-2  But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily [secretly] shall bring in destructive heresies [heretical doctrine], even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.  And MANY SHALL FOLLOW their pernicious [destructive] ways; by reason of whom the way of Truth shall be evil spoken of.

Mat 24:4-5 And, answering, Jesus said to them, "Beware that no one should be deceiving you."  For MANY shall be coming IN MY NAME, saying, 'I [Jesus] AM the Christ!' and shall be deceiving MANY."

Have no doubt... there are MANY that claim to come in the Name of Jesus - they even boldly proclaim that Jesus actually IS the Christ!

You can find them behind the pulpits of every major city and small town alike... all across the USA!

What does it say?  They shall DECEIVE MANY!  They've done a pretty good job of deceiving it so far!
Take away the fear of a Christian hell of eternal torture, and you take away the power, the vanity, and the money which can be, and is the motivation of the basest of men and women of their congregations!

John Hagee was on the TV and he said:

"If hell is going to be anything, it is going to be a place of remembrance."

Does this world-wide, preaching, televangelist even OPEN His Bible?!

Remembrance?!  Hell/hades/sheol is a "place of remembrance"?!

What did we just read from God's Holy Word?!

"in death there is NO remembrance of You; in the UNSEEN [sheol - hades]"

John Hagee is either Scripturally illiterate (at best), or he is an outright LIAR trying to save his paycheck!  In doing so, Hagee makes a mockery of God and SPITS on His Holy Word!

Listening to some of these TV dirt-bags, you would think that Jesus and His Disciples spoke more on "hell" than they did any other topic throughout Scripture.

Is that true?

No.

Jesus - 4 Occasions

[1]  "Capernaum... brought down to hell [hades/unseen]" (Mat 11:23)

same occasion as recorded by Luke:

"Capernaum... thrust down to hell [hades/unseen]" (Luk 10:15)

[2]  "hell [hades/unseen] shall not prevail against... church" (Mat 16:18)

[3]  "And in hell [hades/unseen] he lifted up his eyes" (Luk 16:23)

[4]  "I [Jesus] ... have the keys to hell [hades/unseen]" (Rev 1:18)

Disciples - 4 Occasions

[5]  "You will not leave My [Jesus'] soul in hell [hades/unseen]" (Acts 2:27)

Later, in the same message:

"Christ... His soul was not left in hell [hades/unseen]" (Acts 2:31)

[6]  "Death and hell [hades/unseen] followed with him" (Rev 6:8)

[7]  "Death and hell [hades/unseen] delivered up the dead" (Rev 20:13)

Next verse:

"Death and hell [hades/unseen] were cast into lake of fire" (Rev 20:14)

[8]  "O grave [hades/unseen] where is thy victory" (1 Cor 15:55)

Hades - eight occasions, eleven individual times in the entirety of the New Testament... these are the only occasions that either Jesus, or His Disciples spoke on hades.

Not ONCE did they say it was a place of endless torment and suffering for God's creation.

There is also one occasion where the KJV incorrectly renders tartaroo as "hell".

Tartarus, as I've shown in my Egyptian Fables blogs, is an Egyptian word - not Greek [G5020 - tartaroo].

It means "abyss - a place of restraint" and is also called the "deepest abyss of the Greek hades".

Humans are never connected with tartarus - only angels.

2 Pet 2:4  For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell [G5020 - tartaroo], and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment;

This place of restraint ("chains of darkness") is also not "eternal"... they are only restrained until WE judge the angels (1 Cor 6:3).

Writing about John Hagee (and those like him) got me a little fired up...

It's probably best that I take a break for now.

We'll continue with the details of those eight occasions mentioned above in Part 10 later...

Some of these excerpts are from my personal notes copied from 30+ years of studying... some of these notes are direct copies of various sources - I do not claim to have authored every word of this... it's just a mass collection I've tucked away over the years for my own personal studies... I didn't consider a bibliography at the time I directly copied small excerpts from various authors.  Also, any emphasis (underlines, bold text, all CAPS, etc.) noted above was only meant to capture my personal attention as I studied...
